Abby the Dog needs a home
Abby is a lovely chestnut-coloured 2-year-old spayed female shepherd mix who is looking for an active, loving family. She has been with the same family since she was a puppy but lifestyle changes and time constraints are not working well for Abby as she requires more attention than her current family is able to provide. Abby has been raised with young children and another dog and while she can initially be hesitant to meet new people she does eventually engage once things have calmed down and she does not feel overwhelmed. Abby’s family describes her as loveable, good with children and other dogs and enjoys their interaction and attention. She is an active girl who loves to exercise, run and play, so needs someone who is ready and willing to get out their snow boots and walk the trails and have a game of hide and seek in the yard. Her ideal new home would be a house with a large securely fenced yard with a family who has more time for her, time for walks and runs and a family that has older children rather than young toddlers who need more time and attention. She will thrive in an environment where she is surrounded by love, patience and kindness! A playful, friendly dog as a companion for her would be a nice but is not a must-have – as she is more of a people dog.
